2,000 people possibly exposed to hepatitis A in Nashville, TN
Beginning of May, I wrote about Hepatitis A outbreak in the United States. At that time, the case were confirmed in seven states. Now, Nashville, TN confirmed Hepatitis A outbreak according to CNN NEWS on May 30, 2018. Tennessee is the most recent and 14th states confirmed Hepatitis A cases since December.
Hepatitis A is a viral infection that cause inflammation of the liver. It is spread when people contaminated food and water. According to US centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), symptoms of Hepatitis A which include fever, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, and jaundice(yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes), usually last two months.
Shortage of Hepatitis vaccine is also occurred. Vaccination is best way to prevent an infection because there are no special treatment of it.
The list of states on the article that conformed Hepatitis A outbreak is ; California, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Utah, West Virginia, and Tennessee.
